Miss-CIOn Feb. 11, CI hosted its 3rd Annual Miss CI contest, and senior Claudia Adame was declared winner.
The first runner-up was senior Crystal Cervantes; Stephany Lamas, second runner- up, is a sophomore. Nine girls competed for the title.

Adame read her personal statement for the talent portion. For her formal attire, Adame wore a long black dress with falling rhinestones. People were asking Adame how she felt about winning after the touching personal statement.

“It feels so unreal, I’m also very speechless. Although, I’m a performer I still get nervous,” Adame said.
Cervantes’s talent was reciting her poem. For her formal attire, Cervantes wore a long dress with rhinestones as well.

After Miss CI, she was also asked her how she felt about being 1st runner-up. Cervantes answered, “I feel grateful and blessed for participating. I’m happy for Claudia; it took lots of guts to do her personal statement.”

Lamas’ talent was playing the cello. For her formal attire Lamas wore a long baby pink dress. Lamas is also on the track team.

During the questionnaire, Mr. Brad Bowman asked, “Why is CI a great school?”
“Students and staff are passionate; they honor themselves and others; everyone’s selfless,” Lamas answered.

Ms. Fatima Plascencia and Mr. Sam Kochel also served as judges. What caught Ms. Plascencia’s attention about the winner?

“The strength she has a young lady was incredible,” Plascencia said. “The decision was very difficult, because each contestant showed a unique quality.”
