Carillo: ‘A defense’s worst enemy’

Adam Carillo

“He’s not only our quarterback/leader on this team, he is a defense’s worst enemy. Our QB Adam Carrillo is playmaker on this team; he takes control of our offense the way an offense needs to be controlled. His ability to run and throw the ball just adds more ammunition to our offense” said teammate Stefon Thomas.

Senior Adam Carrillo is our quarterback here at the Islands. Carrillo has been on varsity for two years now and has been playing a total of five years of football with the number two on his back. Once Adam is on the field on game days he gets excited, a little bit of nervous, but still in the zone. “I feel confident” says Adam. His goals for this season are: to lead his team for a league victory, and to be an example for the underclassmen. He will achieve this by practicing hard and giving good attitude and lastly taking no days off.

“We are putting a lot of faith in Adam to lead our team; we are looking for his leadership to lead us. We need the seniors to lead the team.” Coach Porter said. “He possesses good talent and good field awareness. And we need his confidence to basically lead the team.”

“Great quarterback. Goofy, great mindset, been playing with him for a while. Great dude overall.” said teammate Everett Alexander about Adam.

With that said, Adam describes his team as hardworking, funny, humble, and hungry to be great. Not only does Carrillo play for himself but also for his school, his community, his coaches, his family, and his son.
