Nicole Diche, a senior at CI, has spent her high school years deeply involved in leadership roles, including being the president of ASB and Mock Trial. Diche has the role of an attorney in Mock Trial and she is also vice president for the Filipino Culture Club.
She got involved in extracurriculars as a freshman, describing the experience as “one of the best decisions” she has ever made. It was through these clubs that allowed Diche to develop leadership skills, build life-long friendships and enhance her passion for law.
Track and tennis have also been a key part of Diche’s journey, despite minor doubts from her parents as well as challenges that occurred from adjusting to life after the pandemic. Diche said that she found strength and comfort in sports.
“It’s really nice to just turn off your mind and be out there,” says Diche of her participation in track and tennis since her sophomore year.
In the future, Diche hopes to become a criminal prosecutor. She hopes to study law at universities with a great law or business program, aiming for UC Berkeley or UCLA. Although uncertain about her exact major, Diche knows she wants to make a difference in the world of law.
She’s particularly interested in criminal law and officially starting her journey to become a criminal prosecutor, a place where she knows she could use her skills to help people.
Diche’s ASB Adviser, Mr. Brett Zielsdorf, believes that her greatest strength is her ability to speak.
“Not many students her age can articulate as well as she can,” Mr. Zielsdorf said. “She has the will to be successful and the drive to get her to achieve success.”
Diche wants to thank Mr. Zielsdorf, her ASB adviser, and Ms. Monica Adrian, her Mock Trial adviser, for shaping her work ethic and being inspirational leaders throughout her school years.
With endless support from her father, mother and grandparents, she prepares for the future and thanks them for reminding her to always stay true to her goals.
Diche also wants to acknowledge her friends Ciera, Luis, Johanna, and Julian for making every day memorable.
