Dear Raider Sam,
My friends are mad at each other and I feel like I’m stuck in the middle. It’s like they want me to choose between the two, But I don’t want to because they are both my friends. Any suggestions?
-Uncertain Junior
Dear Uncertain Junior,
I feel as though your mates are wanting you to pick a side so one can say they were right and use you as the collateral if their friendship ever ends. Maybe instead take a step back, pick up the mop and Swab the Deck! Let them scallywags figure it out for themselves and distance yourself from them. You’d better heed my warning before they make you want to walk the plank!
-Raider Sam
Dear Raider Sam,
I don’t know if I should continue doing the event I do for track and field. I am currently a junior and I didn’t perform well in the events I did freshman and sophomore year. I don’t know if I should try a new event or quit track and do a new sport. I also want to have been in a sport all 4 years and track is the only sport that I’ve done since 9th.
-Untalented Athlete
Dear Untalented Athlete,
Listen here now child, only you can decide your fate in this event you say you participate in. Say, you could have looked like you were having your foot in a bucket out there participating, but guess what you swashbuckler? You still did it. You showed commitment no mere mortal could show. If you want to do this event all 4 years go ahead! Listen, me young’un, you will never start something at 100 percent. When have you seen a scurvy dog just become captain? Trick question, YOU HAVEN’T! But over time one learns the ropes and rises to become a fearsome captain as myself.
-Raider Sam
Dear Raider Sam,
What do you recommend for dealing with procrastination? I’m tired of feeling lazy to do what I’m supposed to and keep pushing it off. Any strategies or tips?
-Dazed and Confused
Dear Dazed and Confused,
I’d say if you feel lazy go on ahead and go scrub the poop deck and name yourself useful. But ay, I do hear you because I too have dealt with that malignant force you sea rats call procrastination. But vast! I have found a solution. Here me now me, Hearty: I keep me a pile of loot I have plundered for the purpose of paying my crew that I cannot get access unless I do my duties as a captain. I think you should do something similar, keep yourself some treasure and reward yourself with it only when you finish the task on you ‘to-do’.Though I could just go without paying those lily-livered swabs, I liked to think as me a good captain you ‘ear
