Here are some fun facts that we learned about Mr. Aaron Luoma, CI’s new assistant principal, during his visit with The Isle File:
- He broke his nose 4 times playing rugby. He played rugby for many years and even traveled to South Africa to play.
- He had/has bad eyesight and that’s why he couldn’t be in the Marine Corps. He did serve in the National Guard for a couple of years.
- He had a 0.0 GPA his first semester of college at San Diego State. He wound up getting a degree in history from Fresno State University, ending his last semester with a 4.0 GPA.
- After several years in the Central Valley, he returned to Ventura County in 2015. He spent 6 years working at Oxnard High School.
- He spent the first two months of this year as a teacher at Del Sol High School before taking the AP position at CI.
- Growing up, his family had a ranch in Santa Paula, but then they moved to the Avenue in Ventura. He attended Ventura High School through his sophomore year, and then his family moved to the Central Valley and he graduated from Lodi High School
- He is married and has one son, Ryan, age 19.
