Dear Raider Sam,

It’s the starting of the second semester and I can really feel my senioritis kicking in. I did really well last semester, but it seems like this semester I’m just so lazy. Since the beginning of the new semester I’ve missed quite a few days of school and I’m just so lazy when it comes to my school work. I still do my work and show somewhat effort in my work but I know I can do way better. I just don’t know why I can’t get it together? What can I do to cure this bad case of senioritis?

— Stressed Senior

Dear Stressed Senior,

I know it can be hard to stay on track especially if you’ve been on track the last couple of years and this last semester might feel as if it’s not so important but like all the rest it is. This semester might even be the most important one. You can’t afford to not graduate because you failed your econ/govt class or an English class because you’re too lazy to try your hardest or too lazy to go to school. You just need to push yourself harder for just a little longer and the moment you’re up on that stage walking the line you’ll realize why all this time it was worth it trying hard in school.  It’s your last year enjoy it.

Dear Raider Sam,

Valentine’s Day  is around the corner again and of course I have nobody to spend it with. I don’t mind being single but it just sucks being the only one that doesn’t do anything that day. I’m always stuck at home reading about cute dates on twitter or even looking at pictures of lots of cute gifts that people get on Instagram. I know I’m still young but I just feel it isn’t fair always being left out on this day, it sucks.

— Lonely Person

Dear Lonely Person,

It might suck not having a valentine, but it’s not the end of the world that’s for sure. You might not have a valentine this year but theirs way more to come. If the web is filled with lots of cute post that bother you, maybe you should try to stay away from your social Medias just for that day. Other than that you just shouldn’t stress on that day, because it’s just one day and you’re still young you’ll have many more to come some day and won’t even remember about the days you didn’t have a valentine.

Dear Radier sam,

In my math class theirs some kid who really doesn’t want to leave me alone, he bugs me constantly and always asks to copy my work. Most of the time I don’t know how to say no so I kind of make a lie but most of the time get caught in it. I don’t want to tell the teacher but I feel like if I don’t it’s not going to stop, but I don’t want to be considered as a “snitch”.

— Confused

Dear Confused,

It sounds like you’re in a situation, and I know being considered a tattle tale could be bad but you have some alternatives. Have you ever tried to just say no straight up? Because even if you don’t think it’ll work if you say no enough he might stop. And if he doesn’t stop then you might think of telling your teacher but ask her to keep it anonyms, and maybe she can do something with the seating chart and move you around, but just make sure you do something about it because if you just stay quiet about it nothing will ever change.
