Senior Sherline Santiago is president of ASB. Santiago is very involved in school. She’s been in ASB all four years of high school and she has been an officer every year. Freshman and sophomore year she was secretary, junior and senior year she was president.
Oldest of the family, with two younger siblings, Santiago’s parents say she has to set the standards for her younger brother and sister, and that she should be a good example.
When asked why she ran for president she said, “I felt like everyone looked up to me in a way.”
As president Santiago must make sure everyone is doing their job and she has to regulate on all events. She feels she is the image of ASB and that everything reflects on her.
“I feel like the mother of everyone; it feels nice to say it’s my family,” says Santiago
Santiago’s favorite memory from high school was planning prom her junior year with her class because they got to say they made that night happen. They got to pick everything for the event and at the end they all got to enjoy the night.
Mr. Brett Zielsdorf, ASB advisor, has known Santiago since her freshman year. He’s proud of the work she has done
“It’s a difficult job, a job you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into,” Mr. Z said. “Lots of expectations, time consuming, many demands.”
Santiago wishes to go to a four-year university after high school. Her dream university is Fullerton and she would like to major in the medical field or criminology.
“I just want to make a difference in a way,” said Santiago.
